And with the proper equipment, it can tow up to 7,710 pounds (3,497 kilograms). It also features the company’s eTorque mild hybrid system, which provides the engine with seamless automatic stop/start, an extra 90 pound-feet of torque at launch and improved fuel economy. The 20 comes standard with a 3.6L V6 that develops 305 and 269 pound-feet of torque, managed by an eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s FCA’s temporary retaliation to GM and Ford’s midsize pickup push, while the new 1500 takes on more upscale variants of the Chevrolet Silverado, the GMC Sierra and the Ford F-150, not to mention the Toyota Tundra and the Nissan Titan. The previous-generation Ram 1500 is still on sale as well, rebadged as the Classic, and caters to buyers on the lower-end of the spectrum with more modest average transaction prices and hefty purchase rebates.
